Perfect For Short Wheelbase Van Conversions
The Expandable Elevator Bed solves the biggest challenge in short wheelbase van conversions: how to sleep comfortably without sacrificing living space. Traditional east-west beds force you to sleep diagonally or with bent knees, while fixed north-south beds consume valuable floor space. This innovative system expands when you need it and retracts when you don't, giving you the best of both worlds. The ultra-low profile means you can leave it set up permanently without losing headroom, eliminating the hassle of daily bed assembly.

What's Included
Complete expandable elevator bed system with mounting hardware and detailed installation instructions for professional-grade fitment in your camper van.
Quick Install Tip
Connect all red wires to the positive power supply line and all black wires to the negative power supply line. The bed raise and lower wires should be connected to the switch accordingly. Press the switch twice to raise or lower the bed.
Latest Updates
We have made the bed lighter and more reliable by changing the expandable section to a manual extension design. This update saves approximately 10 lbs of weight. To deploy, simply press the two yellow handles and pull the extension out. To close, press the button and push it back in — it locks automatically in place.
Additional Features
Guide rails (included in the package) help stabilize the bed platform during operation and keep the elevator bed aligned as it raises and lowers.
Mount the guide rails on a flat vertical surface inside the van, aligned with the bed guide blocks.
Many customers choose not to install guide rails and instead allow the bed to rest on cabinets or furniture when it reaches the sleeping position. In some van layouts, this approach can save valuable interior space because guide rails must be installed vertically, which occupies wall space.
However, if your van build includes vertical wardrobes, cabinets, or a shower wall near the elevator bed, these surfaces can provide an ideal mounting location for the guide rails.
In these cases, installing the guide rails is strongly recommended, as they help:
• Maintain smooth and stable bed movement • Prevent lateral movement of the bed frame
Elevator Bed Control System Safety Features
The elevator bed system uses a smart motor control module that continuously monitors the torque load on the lift motors.
For example, many users choose to store bedding, pillows, or other soft items on the bed platform. When raising the bed, these items can remain on the bed and the platform can be lifted until it gently contacts the ceiling for compact storage while driving.
However, all stored items must always be securely placed so they will not fall during sudden braking, sharp maneuvers, or in the event of an accident.
The control module automatically senses resistance through motor torque feedback. If the system detects that the bed has contacted an object or the ceiling and the load increases beyond the preset limit, the controller will automatically stop the motor. This prevents the bed from over-compressing objects and helps protect the lift mechanism from damage.
Emergency Manual Release
Although the elevator system uses high-reliability motors, an emergency manual release is provided as a backup safety feature.
Each motor is equipped with an emergency release handle.
The release handle can be accessed in two ways:
• From the top side of the bed, through the openings between the bed frame ribs
• From the bottom side, by removing the bed panels to access the motor assembly
When the emergency release is engaged, the motor drive is mechanically disengaged.
Once disengaged, the bed can be manually lowered in a controlled manner.
Some downward force must be applied while lowering the bed, which acts as an additional safety feature to prevent the bed from suddenly dropping in the event of a system failure.
