I am still waiting for delivery. It was sent back to your company by CanPar as it was damaged prior to reaching its destination. I am very interested in getting delivery of my order. Your staff have indicated that they are waiting for restocking of the hinges before the spare tire ladder part can also be sent.Hopefully, this will happen soon. Thank you.
Carrier seems solid and well-made. A few suggestions could make the product better. First, the door attachment points end up deep inside the door panel and are not easy to access. Second, the included top hinge attachment point washer (?) that the bolts seat against torques unevenly when you fully seat and tighten the bolts. I tried three different times to seat that flush with the hinge and couldn’t get it to lay flush. Lastly, the instructions would benefit from being a bit more professionally done. Would have helped navigate the issues I ran into noted above.
I bought this to replace my owl tire ladder carrier because I kept losing grip in the snow—the crossbar sits too close to the van body. This carrier is a completely different level. The engineering is excellent, the grip is solid in all conditions, and you don’t kick the van every time you climb up. The construction feels much more robust too, especially if you’re carrying an oversized spare tire. Service is top notch too!
