No instructions were included in the box. I sent an email requesting the instructions be emailed to me. But still no response.
I watched the YouTube video, but it's lacking in a lot of detail since there is no audio. Some examples of missing detail are: Alignment on the hinges is not explained, adjustment of bottom clip is not explained, Tightening of hinge bolts prior to installing is required.
Plus the video shows the top bar being install backwards, but the video at the end shows turned around correctly.
Installed this rack and immediately tested it by putting full weight on it — it didn’t move or bend at all. The no-drill installation is a total game changer. This is an absolute no-brainer for mounting accessories on the rear door.
Sooo glad I got this!!! Before leaving for a month long van trip, I realized I was missing a bit of space and ordered this gear rack and split door storage box because I didn't want to drill other holes in my van for nothing. Let me tell you this thing can handle a lot more weight than I thought. With the large 39" tall cargo box, I filled it with pretty much the heaviest items in my van. So far, I've had it for a couple months and driven 9000km with it and it's freaking amazing. It's built like a tank. I should have gotten this way before many other upgrades on my van. I put all my tools, propane tank, fire pit, camera tripods, oil, recovery gear, and much more in there. I checked many times to see if the rack was holding up, it hasn't moved an inch during all that driving and quite a bit of it was off road on bumpy roads. For anyone considering buying one of these, do it. It only took me 2 hours to install from start to finish including swapping out the hinges and installing the cargo box and I'm not a professional. I know that if I took a rack that required drilling, it would have taken a lot longer and I'm always scared rust would start prematurely down the line. So when you have the option to not drill holes, that's the way to go.
